The Department of Psychology will help link students with internship sites in their area of interest including social work, corporate psychology, child care and education as well as research and training.

Student Tutor Internships

Psychology students who demonstrate academic excellence and good communication skills will be invited to apply for positions as student tutors. Their roles include giving academic mentoring to students and assisting the lecturers in course preparation. It is ideal training for students who want to pursue a career in training. 

Research Assistantships

This opportunity to work with academic staff on research is the ideal training ground for students wanting to pursue further studies in psychology. All HELP psychology students are eligible to apply for these prized positions.  

Academic Development Workshops

Every semester, psychology students who want to hone their academic skills can attend, for no charge, seminars run by HELP Psychology lecturers on writing skills, research planning, using computer statistical packages (SPSS) and presentation skills.
