Research and Publications

  • The main aim of this research is to develop an Academic Conscientiousness Scale, focusing on an Asian Context, as well as investigate the psychometrics properties of this scale using  a Malaysian  sample.
  • HELP University College is a full member of the Consortium of Institutes on Family in the Asian Region (CIFA), represented by Dr. Ng Wai Sheng.

  • Dr. Rachel Ting is currently involved in teaching and training a new generation of therapists in a three year training program funded jointly by the Shanghai Mental Health Center (SMHC) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

  • The Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) program is a specially designed initiative by Mr. Kenneth Phun based on research that  seeks to assist students in becoming independant learners who are instrinsically driven and well-equipped with the necessary skills and desire to learn.
  • Much of psychology teaches that the behavioural and intellectual differences between males and females are often exaggerated and are a reflection of social stereotypes rather than psychological realities.

  • Paul's primary research interest is in designing and evaluating intervention programs to enhance the psychological well-being of youths and building a greater sense of responsibility in youths to contribute to the betterment of society.

  • This research project looks at children's ability to distinguish between memories for different episodes, namely visual and auditory events.

  • Vanitha would like to explore the efficacy of Creative Arts among abused and traumatised children in a Malaysian setting.

  • The team is interested in the universal and culture-specific aspects of parenting that lead to adaptive social development in children.

  • His research has involved over 12 organisations in West and East Malaysiafrom a variety of industries including accouning, advertising, law, manufacturing, agriculture and education.
