Personal Summary Chee Leong currently serves as the Vice President and Dean of the Faculty of Behavioral Sciences at HELP University College, Kuala Lumpur, which houses the largest Psychology undergraduate program in South East Asia. There, he lectures in a variety of areas, including Social Psychology, Research Methodology, Human Motivation, Developmental Psychology and Cognitive Psychology. He also sits in the EXCO of the Malaysian Psychological Association (PSIMA) and heads the Registration Bureau for Psychologist.

Personal Summary Kenneth’s area of focus is educational psychology and he is especially keen on developing the awareness of learning styles among students. He has thus presented several research papers and conducted workshops on teaching approaches such as the creative use of boardgames. Kenneth is also the Coordinator of the PAL program in the Department.

He is a TC3 working member of the International Federation of Information Processing within UNESCO charged with the responsibility of evolving best practice and research on ICT and education. In addition, he has published internationally and is accredited with key insights into global trends in technology, culture and business.

Personal Summary Prof. Datin Dr Quek is the recipient of UNESCO Award for promoting literacy; the Chancellory Award (UM) for her Ph.D. thesis; First Prize Award for Malaysia towards World Class Quality from the American Institute of Quality Control and Institute of Quality, Malaysia. She was appointed as a Member of the First Board of Counsellors, Malaysia in 1998. She has also received seven (7) Excellence Awards from UM since 1995 including the 2008 Excellence Award . Her research interests are mainly in career and effective human resource training,including people with special needs. In research she was awarded a Silver Medal (2005) and a Bronze Medal (2007) for co-research by UM and as a principal researcher she led her team to win a Silver Medal (2009) in UM. She serves as the principal consultant-researcher on Basic Economics (/Ekonomi Asas/) in the Curriculum Development Division , Ministry of Education, Malaysia and Active Learning in History in the Curriculum Development Division , Ministry of Education, Malaysia. She also co-researches with 39 countries in a World History project. She has published several books and journals including The Asian Psychologist (NUS/. //vol.1, no. 2,/ pp. 56-58. 2000); Journal Of Workplace Learning, United Kingdom, vol.17, no. 4, pp. 231-242) 2005; /Chemical Education Journal, vol.10, no. 2/, 2008 registration No. 10-16 . She is also the Editor of the Higher Education Leadership Research Bulletin, Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia (2008-2010) and Exco member of the Malaysian Psychological Society. She is awarded international listings in the Marquis’ Who’s Who in the World from 2001 -2010 ; Who’s Who in Asia (2007-2008) and also membership in the prestigious Literati Club, (Emerald Journals) of scholars in United Kingdom.

Dr Hera Lukman

Personal Summary Dr Lukman is a registered Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society. She is a health psychologist with research interests in the areas of eating disorders and health communication. Her current projects include the assessment of risk factors associated with eating disorders, with particular emphasis on weight-related teasing and the development of effective health communication for the prevention of Eating Disorders in the Malaysian population. In addition, Dr Lukman is involved in collaborative research investigating the public perception of individuals with strabismus (ie squint) and academic conscientiousness. Her collaborators include Winnie Chua, John Emmanuel Kiat and Asha Ganesan, who are currently graduate tutors at the HELP Department of Psychology.

Personal Summary Anasuya Jegathevi Jegathesan has recently completed her Doctorate in Counseling from the University of South Australia. She was awarded the 2007 Merdeka Patrons Award for outstanding scholastic achievement by the Malaysian-South Australian Business Council, and the 2007 Award for Professional Excellence by the Australian First Nations Academy for conducting positive research on minority issues. She holds a double Masters: a Master in Education (Guidance and Counseling) from the International Islamic University, and a Masters in Business Administration from the Maastricht School of Management. Her research areas involve intercultural interaction issues, spiritual counseling, adolescence and ethical issues in counseling.

Personal Summary Dr Ting is actively involved in research with the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology as well as projects with the Shanghai Medical Health Centre (SMHC) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) (USA). Her areas of expertise include cross cultural psychology, indigenous psychology, linguistic analysis, Chinese psychology as well as spirituality and coping. Dr Ting has been invited by the Institute of Psychology-Chinese Academy of Science (IPCAS) in Beijing to conduct assessments and provide psychological aid at Sichuan. She is currently teaching modules in the Master of Clinical Psychology program.
