Center for mobile technology

The Center for Mobile Technology forms the platform for students to acquire knowledge and skills in research, planning, development and deployment of mobile and wireless technologies. For the past four years, The Center for Mobile Technology has worked and maintained close relationship with many industry players such as Ericsson Malaysia , DiGi Malaysia , SUN Microsystem Malaysia, Apple Malaysia , IBM Malaysia and many more.

Over the years, The Center for Mobile Technology has created many success stories by generating good projects such as The first education institution in Asia to come out with a campus wide mobile college system – College.Net; two years in running (2002 and 2003) Gold and Silver winner for the Ericsson KACIP-CutEdge Mobile Application Competition; clean sweep first, second and third prize for Ericsson-DiGi Edge Developer Idol Competition 2004; and HSBC Young IT Entrepreneur Award 2002 second round qualifier and 2004 finalist.

Some of the current projects that are under the pipeline of Center for Mobile Technology are Mobile Speech Translation, WiFi Environment Services, Location Based Services, PodCasting and Mobile Traffic. One of the center's most interesting and challenging projects is the Mobile Parking Roadmap System, which is in collaboration with the Nescafe KickStart 2005 winner, Aidan Aquinas – who is also an IT student in HELP University College .
