Malaysia Toray Science Foundation (MTSF) Science Education Competition

The Department of A-Levels was awarded the first prize (cash prize of RM6,000) for the students’ outstanding achievement in developing a Cost Effective Design for an Interesting Spectroscope in November 2005 in the MTSF Science Education Competition.

MTSF was established in 1993 through a RM4 million endowment by Toray Industries, Japan. The Foundation is registered with and recognised by the Malaysian authority as an organisation formed to promote and advance science and technology in Malaysia.

The Science Education Competition was held with the aim to encourage and support more participation in research and development. MTSF provides grants and cash awards in recognition of the students’ outstanding achievements and research work.
