The faculty was formerly known as the HELP Centre for Psychology which was established in 1999. The Faculty of Behavioural Sciences, which was established in 2006, now houses the Department of Psychology, CAREERsense@HELP and the Center for Psychological and Counseling Services (CPCS).

The mission of the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences is to have a positive impact on people in this region by providing quality education and conducting quality research in the area of human behaviour, thought, emotion, relationships, learning and development.
