The Department of Law takes great pride in its role as one of the leading providers of private legal education in Malaysia. The development of the Department has been guided by a firm commitment to academic and student welfare.
Founded in 1986, it is one of the country's first private law schools which originally catered for external students pursuing the University of London LLB. In 1987, the Department launched the collaborative LLB programme with the University of Glamorgan (formerly known as the Polytechnic of Wales).
Today the Department of Law at HELP conducts the largest UK Degree Transfer Program in Malaysia. Through this program, students can transfer to top UK Universities, which includes University of Manchester, University of Sheffield, University of Exeter, University of Leeds, Cardiff University, University of Liverpool, Aberystwyth University, Northumbria University University of West of England, Bristol and University of Heartfordshire.
With some who were former practitioners, we at the Department of Law assure you of quality teaching as our faculty members comprises of lecturers who are both qualified and experienced. Almost all of our lecturers are involved in research and publication; some with well known journals.
Apart from academia, the Department has a very active Law Society which has successfully organized various activities, such as the Annual Law Ball, Mooting Competitions, charity drives and other exciting endeavors.
