In year 2003 and 2004, the organisers HELP University College, Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), Alliance Francaise and French Embassy, with the support of various sponsors, took the lead in organising the largest ever Fête de la Musique in Malaysia for the public. It was not only the first in Malaysia but also in South East Asia.
In view of the overwhelming success of the festival in 2003 and 2004 and also the many possibilities of utilising it further to promote music and arts in Malaysia, the Fête de la Musique 2005 will once again be organised at the following locations in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya:

Fête de la Musique is a festival that complements the government's efforts to promote culture as well as tourism. Given its potential, we are confident that similar to the scenario in France and other countries, the festival in the Klang Valley is capable of attracting musicians and tourists from the region.
In the years to come, the Malaysian version of Fête de la Musique has the potential of being listed as an event not to be missed in tourism calendars.
Thus the Fête de la Musique was introduced because music, as an international language, has the power to integrate, unite and harmonise people. This is especially important for a multi-racial country like Malaysia.
