Graduate Diploma in Accounting (GradDipAcct)
Introduction
The Graduate Diploma in Accountingis specially developed for non-accounting and non-finance degree holders to acquire accounting knowledge and skills at the postgraduate level for them to have a good working knowledge and competency in the discipline, and for them to gain admission as an associate of, and quality as a professional accountant of, the society of Certified Practising Accountants (CPA), Australia. The Graduate Diploma in Accounting may also qualify students for admission as associates of other professional accountancy bodies.
Additionally, accountancy and finance knowledge and skills are growing in importance and recognition as a component essential to proper management in both the public and private sector globally, and non-accounting and finance graduates are increasingly drawn to the reward and satisfaction of a career in these fields of expertise, whether they are professionally qualified or not. In essence, the Graduate Diploma in Accounting provides the opportunity for such graduates to extend their competency and confidence to develop successful and lucrative careers in accountancy.

Duration
14 to 18 months.
Assessment
Exam (20%) + Assignment I (30%) + Assignement II (50%)
Course Requirement
10 subjects (8 core (compulsory) + 2 electives) to be completed on a modular basis
Admission Requirement
A bachelor's degree from a recognized university, preferably with adequate industry experience. Those without an undergraduate degree but with a recognized undergraduate diploma of a 2 year course and with substantial relevant working experience may, with MQA approval, be considered for admission.
